We've had many requests over time for career clothing and I'd like to come up with a solution to meet that need.  Our main focus and buying budget are  dedicated primarily to dresses and as a result  career wear isn't something that we tend to carry or if we do, it's very limited.  I'm sending this out there to see if there is any interest in forming a career club.  A group of 10-12 women who are looking for suiting, career dresses and separates appropriate for work.  Every 2-3 months  I would get in a nice selection of clothing and we could meet after hours for a shopping party.  Maybe we can trade in the cake for wine:)   I'm thinking of labels like Kiyonna, Adrianna Papel, Donna Ricco - and I'd love to get in Anna Sholtz which is definitely a higher end label, so I'm curious to see if there is any interest.

So, if you can please let me know what you think  that would be appreciated.  I'm curious to know your dress size and also what sorts of things you are looking for.

Hi all! I am, as you may know 1/2 of the Maximum Woman founders. I have really been meaning to write to everyone for a while now. Who knew running a busy online store coupled with a busy retail store would find me pressed for time?! I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being so loyal and so very supportive to both Rina and myself. For all of you that have already purchased from us and all of you that will be in the future, I need to tell you that you- YOU - ladies (and Gentlemen respectively) are the driving force in my life! You have not just helped us to grow our business but have also enriched our lives with your mere presence. I am the corny one! Some of you know this already, some are now finding this out in spades. Until I started meeting so many lovely, wonderful, passionate and diverse Women, I really felt like Rina and I were two plus size women against the world. I now know it is just not the case. All of you are like us, and us like all of you. There is no greater, and I am serious, NO GREATER reward than talking to or seeing or hearing from you ladies. I love seeing you glow as you dance out of my changeroom. I love seeing you grinning ear to ear when finally you have found that dress that you so painfully searched for. I love opening the mail and reading a heartfelt letter you sent spilling your deepest thoughts and your kindest words. You are also the reason I (we) strive to seek out and find new and cutting edge clothing. I want to see that smile everyday, and hear you happy and you to know that we are really your biggest allies. If it takes me years of my life, I want to dress you all in the very best I can find, the very best I can make and the very best for you. I want everyone to feel that glow. You give it to me, I want to spread it around. So if there is ever a special request, an idea a treasure, let me know. We are designing a wonderful line for this Spring/Summer that goes up to 5X. I really hope you will love it. With you, my muses, it will not be hard to make clothing as beautiful as you all are.

XOXO

We want to thank everyone who came out to celebrate our 1 year anniversary party last week.  Our party was a great success:)  It was wonderful seeing all of our regulars who have been with us from the start.  A big thank you to those of you who sent flowers!

We have just finished renovations on the back of our store to include a 1500 sq.ft dress boutique. I think it looks pretty nice.  We've even brought back our much loved leather couch.

We have big plans for this year so stay tuned.

Thanks

Rina

Throughout my entire make-up wearing life (since 14, but don't tell my Gramma) I had not until now come across a life altering staple cosmetic line of products for my eyes until late 2006. I have always been a fan of  M.A.C. Cosmetics, they are fabulous and their Studiofix is phenomenal, but that's not the grand discovery. (If you wear cover-up, foundation or any kind of powder, try Studiofix if you haven't already, it's a foundation and powder rolled into one great product!) The grand Discovery for me, this is the second best thing to our Body Wraps, is SHADESTICKS ! WOW. I have always liked playing with eye shadow colors, trying different shades, techniques and applicators.as usual even with a "primer" the shadow would be gone by the end of the day. NOT A WORD OF A LIE ----  I put this Shadestick base color on my lids, I tried a burgundy shade, then went over it with a brush and a reddish plum eye shadow. It turned out great and here's the punch line. it lasted all day and evening. I did not re apply anything nor did I touch up! It just stayed put! So, upon further experimentation, I bought 6 Shadesticks in all different colors and have around 10 eye shadows in all different shades, so I put on any color Shadestick as a base, then apply the shadow overtop, and I mix it up,,, I don't believe I have ever achieved the same shade twice. It's SO fun, and it does not move. Now if only M.A.C. would come up with a TRULY long wearing lipstick, one to last through dinner, I would be a raving crazy person. Ladies I needed to share this. I have been asked so many times at the store about my eye make-up and I wanted  to  ..spread the love and the beauty tips!!! Lipstick suggestions happily accepted. cindy@maximumwoman.com

When we started our business, we weren't familiar with the term "junior plus".  It was an American term and foreign to us.  We were quickly introduced to the concept with the  arrival of our first order from the US.  The clothing  while stylish and trendy, was cut so smallish.  A 1X appeared to be closer to a 12 or 14, a 2X closer to a 16/18 and a 3X closer to a 20/22.  Fortunately we have found several junior plus styles that go up to a 4X and 5X - but that still only covers a 24 and 26.  Over a year later we remain frustrated with this cut of clothing.  It appears that the clothing is best suited for women with "voluptuous" figures that are well proportioned and solid.  The fabrics and cuts tend to be form fitting.  If you like your clothing sexy, then junior plus is for you.  This clothing also suits women who wear a size 12-20, just make sure and order a size up!

We will do our best to put clothing in the most appropriate category - so that if it's junior plus, you are aware of that.  We will also include the term in our descriptions.

We are more motivated then ever to bring out our own line of clothing that will be both stylish and trendy, and true to plus sizes.  Our line will range from 1X - 5X and a 5X will be a "true" 30/32.  In the meantime we are working hard to find new suppliers who provide clothing that flatters our bodies and fits our curves. We are very excited to introduce a new line in early January that combines great style with comfortable fabrics.

I would like to praise The Body Wrap!
Ladies, and Gentlemen respectively. I need to let you know how absolutely, and unbelievably WONDERFUL these products are. We've decided to carry Body Wraps from a company whose product is called "The Body Wrap" I am in love with mine. I now have 3. I decided to try one two weeks ago when I had to wear a dress to a formal event. SO...I wanted to smooth out my lumps and bumps and decided to use one that we sell. It smoothed, it contoured, it took inches off of my body. I honestly did not want to take it off!!!  Never before has any other body wrap or "girdle" type product impressed me. Either they were uncomfortable, they failed to hide the bulges in the upper area of my tummy, or they would create lumps in my ample upper thighs by cutting in too tight: they would have plastic parts, rubber...etc... you get what I mean.  So fast forward... I now have the high waisted mid-thigh Wrap in both black and white, and a long legged one for my silky slacks too!! WOO WEE!  Let me not forget to tell you, they do not come off and on when it's time to, you know... visit the ladies room.  :) There is a clever and ultra-convenient opening that works GR8! No snaps, no hooks.. Gotta love advanced technology!!!

*****  Two thumbs up!
